Autumn in October, fragrant rice and crab fat, the land of harvest, colorful.
The General Secretary of the Supreme Leader pointed out that "we should encourage and support farmers to develop characteristic agriculture, rural tourism and courtyard economy based on local resources" and "we should support new agricultural business entities, cultivate new farmers, and do a good job in the article of modern characteristic agriculture".
In recent years, with the structural reform of China’s agricultural supply side, characteristic agriculture is in full swing. The reporter recently learned from interviews in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Hainan, Ningxia and other places that farmers are vigorously developing characteristic planting and breeding, supplemented by new business concepts and production methods, and the road to rural revitalization is getting wider and wider.
It’s delicious and fun, and agriculture can also be "leisure"
A bed of tender green and delicious tree seeds grows gratifying, and a ridge of fat and luxuriant four-cornered beans is ripe to be picked … During the National Day holiday, Fengtang Green Park Shared Farm in the suburb of Haikou welcomed many "urban white-collar workers" to patronize.
Yao Li and her husband usually work step by step and have a stable pace of life. Since the adoption of "one acre and three points" in Fengtang Green Park and the planting of their favorite vegetables, the family’s spare time has become busy.
"Bringing children to the garden to catch insects and weed on weekends, picking them home when they are mature, eating them by themselves and giving them away, which is particularly fulfilling." Yao Li said.
Fengtang village was economically backward in the past. A few years ago, based on Fengtang ancient village for more than 400 years, the town attracted social funds to invest in leisure farms and shared homestays, and built it into a rural eco-tourism area integrating eco-agriculture, creative agriculture, tourism, leisure experience, fruit and vegetable picking, and agricultural product production and processing.
"We are close to big cities, so agricultural production has to add leisure and tourism elements to be the back garden of urbanites." Wang Xiaolong, deputy general manager of the park, said that in the first half of this year, the park received 180,000 tourists and earned 5 million yuan.
Green agriculture is not only delicious but also fun. Visitors can also feel a strong artistic atmosphere when they enter Xingguang Village, Shenbei New District, Shenyang.
Every spring, the villagers here use paddy fields as canvases and seedlings as brushes to carefully conceive and plant them. In summer, with the emergence of rice, a series of giant rice field paintings of "galloping horses", "the Goddess Chang’e flying to the moon" and "setting sail" are greeted by tourists. Nowadays, this "rice dream space" has become the "punch card place" for Shenyang citizens in online celebrity, and the leisure formats such as water parks, homestays, riding and shooting have been extended, so that villagers can have jobs at home.
Art sightseeing, farming experience, pastoral vacation … Leisure agriculture is becoming an important development direction of agriculture and tourism industry in various places. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, a large number of local industries with their own characteristics have emerged in China. Last year, the income of leisure agriculture and rural tourism in China exceeded 800 billion yuan.
"Brand" shines "Fan" and "Rare" rushes out of the big market.
Less than 5: 00 a.m. on October 6, Zhonghuan Road in Anshan City, Liaoning Province became lively. Trucks, agricultural vehicles, electric tricycles … Farmers come from all directions and open the foam boxes. koi fish, goldfish, parrot fish and swallow fish are colorful and lively.
This is a big collection of Anshan Santaizi Ornamental Fish Trading Center once a week. Merchants from three northeastern provinces and Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Tianjin drove here to pick fish, box them and ship them. In a few days, the ornamental fish produced in Anshan will swim into the aquariums of thousands of households and become beautiful scenery.
Small ornamental fish has now become an industry with an annual output value of 600 million yuan and over 2,000 farmers and traders in Anshan. More than a decade ago, farmers set foot in characteristic farming, but it was difficult.
In 2002, Li Santai village in Anshan launched farmers to raise ornamental fish, but it was difficult to sell them. The village attracted investment to build a trading market and tried to "bring production with sales", but farmers and business households were in a mess and kept prices down. After several explorations, the practitioners decided to set up trade associations and change "going it alone" into collective self-discipline. In 2017, the association registered two trademarks of ornamental fish, "Saddle’s Xia" and "Saddle’s Red", and held a national aquarium culture festival this summer.
The influence of Anshan Ornamental Fish Distribution Center is increasing day by day. Shi Quancheng, president of Anshan Ornamental Fish Association, said that the standardized development and brand polishing of local characteristic agriculture has changed from "small family jade" to "big family beauty", opening up a big market.
Following the way of polishing the brand, ginseng, a "rare thing" from the deep mountains of Northeast China, has now entered the homes of ordinary people in a different way. In Ji ‘an City, Jilin Province, large-scale ginseng enterprises cooperated closely with farmers and established planting files and traceability systems.
Driven by well-known trademarks in China such as "Yisheng" and "Xinkaihe", ginseng planting, ginseng raw material processing, ginseng medicine, ginseng health care products, ginseng cosmetics and wild ginseng trading in Ji ‘an go hand in hand. Last year, the total output value of the industry reached 6.62 billion yuan, and farmers who used to rely on mountains to eat mountains now have stable income.
"Anhua Black Tea, Huarong Mustard, Zhouzhi Kiwi, Xiaoyi Walnut … In recent years, the characteristic agricultural products have become popular, and the law lies in strengthening the brand and enhancing the satisfaction and trust of consumers." Ma Wenfeng, an agricultural analyst at Iger, said that the rise of brand agriculture is an important symbol to promote the transformation of a large agricultural country into an agricultural power.
"Land goods" rose in value and intensively cultivated "return to the original"
Standing on the dry ridge, looking at piles of golden rice ears, people in Zhenxing Village, wuchang city, Heilongjiang Province feel at ease. "Although the typhoon Lingling crossed the border not long ago and some rice fields fell, the rice sales of the cooperatives are not worried, and the price is still optimistic this year."
Wuchang is a famous "hometown of rice" in northern China. Zhenxing Village is located in the core producing area of high-quality rice. However, in the past, due to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to pursue high yield, the rice here was not outstanding.
"How can we not waste the good resources left by our ancestors?" A few years ago, Dai Shouquan, with the help of a special agricultural products brokerage company in Shenyang, set up an agricultural cooperative, transferred thousands of acres of land, introduced advanced technology and began intensive cultivation.
Manual weeding, application of organic fertilizer, and spraying of insect-repellent liquid mixed with pepper, pepper and garlic … In the first two years after the establishment of the cooperative, the surrounding farmers often laughed at the right to defend their rights: "If you spend more labor, you will lose 200 kilograms of grain per mu, so you can’t pay for it?"
Unexpectedly, the rice planted with "stupid" kung fu has excellent quality and good taste, and stands out in wuchang city. In 2014, the "Yidingsheng" brand high-quality rice planted in Zhenxing Village successfully passed organic testing and expert tasting, and was introduced to 86 five-star hotels nationwide by brokerage companies for sale. "The average retail price per catty reaches 50 yuan, which is several times that of ordinary rice." Wang Ying, the person in charge of the brokerage company, said that this year, the company also launched cooperatives to try out a number of new varieties of original rice and antioxidant rice, trying to develop the new health and wellness functions of Wuchang rice.
As a "local goods", there are also Tan sheep in Yanchi County, Ningxia. Four years ago, Feng Huan, who worked in Beijing, resigned and returned to his hometown to join the newly established Ningxin Ecological Ranch. There are not only modern breeding facilities here, but also dozens of music specially prepared for sheep. Feng Huan also built a runway in the pasture and regularly drove the sheep to "run and exercise" every morning and evening.
With the improvement of feeding standard, the quality and reputation of Yanchitan sheep are higher. At present, Yanchitan mutton has entered 40 large and medium-sized cities in 26 provinces across the country, and the selling price of farmers has increased from 36 yuan per kilogram in 2015 to 60 yuan.
In recent years, China’s agricultural production has changed to a greener and more sustainable direction, the intensity of cultivated land utilization has dropped significantly, and the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has both achieved "zero growth". Organic planting and green farming are opening a new door for farmers to increase their income. (Reporter: Wang Bingkun, Yan Yujing, Zhang Boyu, Jin He, Liang Shubin, Wang Junyi)
