Ask the world M7 order broke 50,000, Yu Chengdong said "back to life", what happened?
On the first day after the National Day holiday, another good news came from the new M7.
On the evening of October 6, Yu Chengdong, executive director of Huawei, CEO of end point BG, and chairperson of smart car solutions, said on the social platform that on October 6, the new M7 Dading (orders with a deposit and a very high intention to buy a car) reached 7,000, and on October 5, it was 3,500. The total quantity of the last two days of the holiday exceeded 10,000. Since its release on September 12, the new M7 has accumulated more than 50,000 vehicles.
"It’s not easy to come back to life!" Yu Chengdong commented on the order surge of the new M7 in Wenjie.
Last year, Huawei and Sailis cooperated to create the AITO Q Series after the models were delivered one after another, it became a "dark horse" in the new energy vehicle market, the highest monthly sales exceeded 12,000, the cumulative sales of nearly 80,000 vehicles throughout the year.
However, since the beginning of this year, due to Tesla’s sharp price reduction and other effects, the sales of the Q & A series have begun to decline continuously. In January this year, the sales of the Q & A series were only 4,475 units, a decrease of 56% month-on-month; in February and March, the sales volume was once lower than 3,000 units. In June this year, the overall sales of the Q & A series recovered to 7,000 units, but in July and August, the sales of the Q & A series fell again when the sales of new car manufacturers such as "Wei Xiaoli" rose sharply month-on-month.
Among them, the sales of the M7 are even more sluggish. In January this year, the sales of the M7 were 1,737 units, a decrease of 56% compared with the previous month. After April this year, the sales of the M7 in July were even lower than 1,000 units, and the lowest was only 432 units.
In this context, on September 12, the new M7 was launched. And this new car was also placed high hopes, and a 5-seat version was added. In terms of price, the new M7 also made a significant adjustment, guiding the price to 249,800~ 329,800 yuan, which is 40,000 yuan lower than the previous M7 starting price. In addition, the new M7 also launched a limited-time 6,000 yuan promotion, starting price further dropped to 243,800 yuan, 46,000 yuan lower than the old model.
Yu Chengdong said that the 5-seat version has always been the mainstream in the SUV market, and the new Q Jie M7 has increased more than 500 million yuan in the overall improvement of the vehicle, mainly in the body structure, chassis materials, suspension structure, etc. He believes that Q Jie M7 will undertake more than 30% of this year’s sales tasks, and will also release the flagship model Q Jie M9 at the end of the year to help the brand and sales to a higher level.
The new M7 has indeed lived up to expectations. Since it was officially launched on September 12, the average daily quantity has exceeded 1,500 vehicles, and as of September 30, the total number of vehicles has reached 30,000. During the National Day holiday, the new M7 has added 20,000 vehicles.
Sun Shaojun, the founder of "car fans", publicly stated that the number of customers entering the store on the National Day of Wenjie New M7 broke out, and customers watching Huawei mobile phones directly led to a large increase in users entering the store to see the car. The proportion of users entering the store to see the car compared with the ideal L7 and L8 continued to increase, and the store found that customers who had previously flowed out to Li Auto began to return to Wenjie M7.
After the order volume has increased significantly, the new M7 is currently facing greater challenges in terms of delivery.
The first financial reporter learned from a picture circulating on the Internet that recently, Sailis is contacting major supplier partners to enhance the supply capacity of the new M7. Before October 5, the new M7 will complete the first phase of the supply capacity of 450 vehicles per day. According to market demand, the second Sailis factory will produce 750 vehicles per day on November 1. Now the supply chain supply capacity is required to be raised to the same level by October 30.
