According to the South + report, at around 10:30 am on November 28, the reporter found that after testing the Didi Chuxing App in Guangzhou, the current Didi Chuxing business, including online car-hailing and shared bicycles, has returned to normal, and the comprehensive functional paralysis lasted for nearly 12 hours, which is also the longest failure of Didi Chuxing in recent years.

According to the third quarter of 2023 earnings report previously announced by Didi Chuxing, the total transaction volume of China’s travel business in a single quarter was 72.50 billion yuan, and the average daily order volume reached 31.30 million orders. Calculated by the failure time of this "collapse", it is estimated that Didi will lose over 10 million orders and over 400 million yuan in transaction volume.

Didi has not announced the specific problem of this failure so far. However, according to the judgment of the system failure situation, some relevant people in the industry pointed out that the cause of the failure is likely to come from the network problem of Didi’s own computer room.

According to the official website of Alibaba Cloud Health Status, on the same day as the failure of Didi on November 27, from 9:16 am, the console and OpenAPI access of multiple database products (RDS, PolarDB, Redis, etc.) in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other regions such as the East and West of the United States were abnormal. The problem was restored at 10:58 on the same day.

Due to the large-scale failure of Alibaba Cloud on the 12th, some users reported that Didi’s products also had unstable service conditions, and some netizens also associated this failure with Alibaba Cloud. However, some industry insiders pointed out that large enterprise clouds like Didi will use multi-Cloud as a Service, and Didi’s failure is more like a business layer problem. Independent IT and telecom analyst Fu Liang has repeatedly emphasized that there are many possible problems, including Didi employees who said that the company’s intranet and internal applications could not be opened because the APP was originally on a separate server outside the company, regardless of internal and external networks.

It is worth mentioning that Didi has also launched Cloud as a Service. In November 2017, Didi’s public cloud was launched under the slogan "Born for Developers". However, on March 31 this year, Didi Cloud announced that it would no longer provide public Cloud as a Service due to product line adjustments.
